I have the Nvidia raid controller driver on a floppy (god I hate XP for requiring a floppy).

I hit F6 to load a 3rd party controller upon windows installation, select the raid driver and continue. But that's it, the controller is never found and my 2 raptors are never picked up.

I mananged to install windows on an IDE drive and got the OS to install the Nvidia raid controller using the same drivers. Why is the XP installation totally ignoring the raid controller?

Check your floppy drive, cables, etc.

I'm running dual raid 0 off NV's controller under Win64. Same mobo...;)

When you hit F6 are you loadingBoth driver files? the raid driver and the sata controller have to be loaded seperately, once you have both files showing at the top of the screen then continue the windows install. Then at the next bootup enter bios and make sure you see both drives on the basic settings page, then exit bios and hit F10 to enter the Nvida raid utility. Both drives should appear in the selection screen, select them both and create the array. Hit "B" to make it bootable, then exit.

You need to load 2 drivers after hitting F6, and the drivers must be from the A8N32-SLI CD.

you can make your own floppy with the latest chipset drivers off nvidias site as well though

Thanks for the replies I got it working. Ha I guess I wasn't paying enough attention for I didn't notice the (required) next to both drivers.

Working well now though, bios and drivers configured just about how I want it. Dual core rocks! I'm still not used to it for when I load several things at once I expect the system to choke as my old s754 would but not with Mr. Opteron!
