Help with a parallel scanner...

Wasn't sure where to put this thread but...

I have a Canon parallel port scanner that worked great under Win2K and my Tekram dual slot 1 board (BX chipset). I recently swapped out my Tekran board for a VP6. Now my scanner works very slowly with the same settings that it was very fast with on the Tekram board. The performance of the HP printer I also have on the same port has not changed. Anyone have some help for me?

In BIOS settings, check that you're using EPP (enhanced parallel port) mode or whatever is recommended for your scanner.

Yeah, I had to make the Parallel port mode change on two systems with the same Gigabyte socket 7 mobo.

On one of them, I ended up having to strip both the print and scanner drivers out of the system and reinstalling them once the mode had been changed in the bios.
