You could start by using correct punctuation and complete thoughts, Andy. :p

Anyway, you still haven't figured that out? How'd you get your mp3's to your Rio if you don't have the ability to transfer them back to the PC???

I don't know how the Rio works...but if they're on smart media, flash, etc. you can use a reader and get them off of that...

AFAIK most HD based players allow you to copy files to the device, and delete files from it, but getting files back off is not an included feature.

This page says there is no way to do it.

Just a word of warning, mods, Andy downloads mostly classical music and other non-copyrighted material.

Yes, that is definitely an option.

But if there is away around the one way file transfer limitation, it would be easier and faster.

Hell, even opening up the device, pulling out the HD, and installing it via an adapter (if it uses a standard notebook drive) would be quicker and easier than re-encoding the entire collection.

Just a word of warning, dummy, just because they are classical music doesn't mean they aren't copyrighted. While the composition is in public domain, chances are the performance is not. :)
