I'm building a computer and I don't know what case to get. I wanna spend at MOST $50 (i'm most probably buying a ps seperatly, unless the one that comes with the case is descent). I was thinking about getting this one :

Special @ 49.00 CHIEFTEC Server Chasis (Workstation Tower) Model DX-01BD- IBM Black w/ Two Case Fans Front Accessible: 4 x 5.25", 2 x 3.5", Internal: 4 x 3.5". Compare to Antec SX1030B Case and Save No Power Supply !!! -OEM

here's a pic :

it's @ newegg.com

Any comments??? Is there anythign wrong with it? I like it because it comes with 2 fans. Do you think it'll be too big? I'm going to have a 1.6a p4 oc'ed

This is one of the best cases you can buy; I have two. 🙂

The power supply is excellent as well and will be more than enough for your new rig. You might want to look at the Chieftec cases. They actuallymake the cases for Antec. And b/c it doesn't say "Antec" on the side, it's $30 cheaper.

I just bought the SX1040 equivalent from Newegg for $69. And it comes with an AMD approved 420-watt ps. The equivalent Antec cases is about $50 more. Take a looksee.

it's a bitchin case....i have a blue one that matches my game theater XP rack

the hard drive cage is so effin nice....you pull a lever and it releases so you can install your drives...place the cage back in, push lever, your cage is secured. it's really nice.

the side panel releases really easily, but when it's on, it's secured and doesn't rattle.

it's the best $49 case you'll buy, in my opinion anyway.

It's definitely a nice case, but you can probably get an Antec for a bit more "with" a power supply, like one of the Truepower psus.

Um.. It's Chenming that makes the cases, no? Cheiftec, Antec and Enermax re-badges and bundles them with the PS's and fans. 'Least that's what I heard last. Great case nonetheless.

I have one and love it. The thing is built like a Mercedes. You would not want to have to carry it around with any regularity, though - 1mm steel throughout makes for a heavy unit.

You are correct. Thanks for setting me straight. I knew it was one of those "C-companies"...Chemming, Chieftec, Chuga-chuga, whatever. 😉
