Finally cracked and bought one. Had everything I wanted but 1080p. Oh well. Anyways, I don't feel like shelling out the money for the Monster cables. Where can I get cables of comparable quality without feeling like I paid out of my ass?

Also any recommendations on a good reciever and speaker setup.

Thanks for the input guys.

Acoustic Research cables are good and not terribly overpriced. I know Best Buy carries them, and probably other places too. If you want to order online bluejeanscable.com is pretty popular I think. There are a couple other sites people mention but I can't remember off the top of my head - I'm sure somebody will know though.

local electronics store would probably have good cables at dirt cheap prices. couple places around here in houston sell stuff for cheaper than partsexpress

Depending on what you're looking at, cables can vary greatly in quality of build and price. For a new HD set I imagine you're looking at HDMI or DVI cables, which are expensive anywhere you look. interconnect-wise, there are a ton of companies like heartland and bluejean cables...vince maskeeper over at HTF makes them himself as well.

cables for less is great, but make sure you check out : www.partsexpress.com

Their "Dayton" cables are QUALITY!

EDIT: Ooooh forgot these guys! Highly recommended... www.knukonceptz.com

GREAT quality cables and a great price, and good looks to boot. I've used them in my automobiles and home and have been VERY impressed w/ audio and video quality.

Wow! Parts express seems to be the best! THanks guys.

Yeah, Partsexpress is a great option too.

I don't have them in addition to cablesforless in my sig for nothing 😉

What happened to that sound system question of yours? (I like those threads hehe)

If you just want to look around on your own, AVSforum is full of a ton of great info, but I sure found it overwhelming at first.
