Help with a $400 rig

Hey guys, I want a $400 rig for my little sister so that she can play her games. I have a case and PSU already and the most important part is the video card (more powerful the better).

Thanks

I get $517?
😀

Yep, 517 sounds like a 400 dollar system to me.
What kinda games are we talking here? I suggest you take a look at the FS/FT forums, lots of mobo/CPU combos for great prices, if you don't need the lastest and greatest. Hell, for that price, you can buy some pretty decent systems in FS/FT.

fine. make it an 1800, and OC it. get rid of the burner. its easy to make that rig 400 bucks.

Good setup, except I'd spend the extra $10 for a 2500+.

You are right. A Barton 2500+ is probably worth the extra $10.

Set the FSB to 166 and you have a 1.9 GHz CPU. The newer 0.13 micro CPUs overclock very nicely, use less power and produce less heat. I have almost the same setup on a Biostar Via KT400 board and have been able to play any game that ive had tried without any problems. CPU never gets over 47C on full load, I have 1 side case fan and I live in Florida.
