Well. I got my 5850 installed. Everything properly updated. Seems to be running slow.
Furmark at 1920x1080 only gets me 4637 with an average fps of 75. Most reviews show this card much higher.
My proc is a q9550 running at 3.4ghz.
I am unsure what might be wrong as the card seems stable.
Help?

With my PhII @ 3.6, 1920x1080, MSAA=0xAA I score 8411 in Furmark. This is with a 5870 @ 950MHz on the core, so I'm going to be faster than you. But even though we're not directly comprable, I would expect your score to be higher. How does it game?

Somethings not right. Windows just told me my aero performance was slow and asked if I wanted to turn it off. Didnt have this issue with my 8800gts.

GPUz screen shot? Is your PCIE running at 16x? Try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers? Maybe driver sweeper. Those are the things I'd start with. Sometimes it seems some people have some issues when going Nvidia to AMD or vice versa. So maybe repeating the process, running driver sweeper may help.

I did all that.. everything is running normal. Games seem to run fine.
aero thing went away.. must been a bug.. still not sure why I have such a low furmark.. maybe that is normal?
Vantage is 14664 with gpu being 15025 . That would appear normal.
Thoughts?

That looks like a normal score for a stock clocked 5850 if I remember correctly.

I run mine at 1025\1300 on water now which is good for 20K :)

As far as the Furmark score? Maybe your cpu is semi unstable and needs a little more voltage tweaking? Possibly a cpu or nb bandwidth problem.

Who knows, if Furmark is low for some reason but games are running better (should be a noticeable upgrade from a 8800, especially with overcloking I would think) than I woudn't worry too much about it. Game on... :)

Now get to overclocking. :)

I tried down clocking my cpu to stock to see if furmark improved.. it did not change. repeated runs on vantage puts me about 14775. From others I have asked that is normal. So it looks like this is running fine. Using fraps most of my games are getting excellent perf.

I wouldn't worry about Furmark scores as it's not much fun to play anyways :)

Furmark is better suited for testing overclocking stability and temps. I'd suggest water cooling if you decide you wanna go ahead and play it for extended periods of time tho.
