Help:) Wireless internet not working

I setup a MN 500 wireless router . it allows me to access the internet when connected with a cable but when i remove the cable i can't connect to the internet through the wireless connection. when i view available wireless networks i can see it and "connect" using my wep key. the router is connected to a university network.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!
 
nevermind. i unplugged the network cable then rebooted and fiddled and stuff and it connected. shrug* now i have to update the microsoft firmware and software and i hope i can repeat this miracle....
