HELP Windows XP problem, new GeForce 3 TI200 won't work after drivers installed

Hello everyone,

I just got a new 60gig hard drive and a Geforce3 TI200 this morning and after doing a fresh install of Win XP Prof, I get a display, but then after installing the Detonator XP drivers, during boot up it seems to lock up right before the choose login screen! Help! Anyone get anything similar?

A few weeks ago I upgraded to a Visiontek GF3, and just after that I moved to XP Pro. I didn't have a problem like you described but I did notice something in the manual that I hadn't seen with any other video card. It said to make sure the card had its own IRQ and preferribly that IRQ should be 11. I spent a little time juggling PCI cards in my system to try and accomodate the manual. I didn't end up with IRQ 11, but did get it on IRQ 10 by itself. So far everything is working fine.

This was my first Nvidia chipset based card so I just assumed they are IRQ sensitive. You might want to check that.

Sweet, thanks Keith. I had a Promise ATA/66 controller card in pci slot 1 that didn't have any devices hooked up to it, so I took it out and now its running great. Thanks for the tip!
