OS: XP pro, file system: ntfs. i have two partitions and two windows installed on them, second windows ok but first simply won't boot, not even safe mode....from second windows i can access first partition but since the account had a password i can't open my documents, i badly need the files in my doc, everytime saying access denied, is there a way to log into that windows thro command prompt or anyway to access files in my document please help me...thanks

Get an independent boot disk such as UBCD, and use one of the many utilities to copy the files you need from one partition to the other or better - to removable media, such as flash memory.

UBCD

Just curious - why two Windows OS's?

There's a way to change the admin password with a knoppix disk. The method is described in the book Knoppix hacks. I would also try changing the password in your second windows intallation to match the first and se if you can access it then. I'ts not supposed to work but it has for me in the past. (its also simple to try).

i'll try knoppix...one winndows for normal work and second for games..if i install both on same windows then boot time gonna increase and also it makes the damn thing look heavily loaded

That would be my recommendation as well. Also, take a look at Bart's PE for a Windows boot disk.
