help win2k problem

i installed nero software into my win2k yesterday
then reboot , it showed blue screeen. It states NeroCd.sys might cause that pro
and suggest me use f8 to go to safe mode. but safe mode can not go passed that blue screen either
so i use win2k disk to do a repair, it is not working either. i really don't want to do a clean insteall cause i got lots precious file. some one please help thanx.

When you say the Win2k repair isn't working do you mean that it ran and didn't solve it? or that it won't run? If you ran the repair, did you do it manually or automatically? Did you use an ERD (Emergency Repair Disk)?

If you didn't use an ERD, then you need to. That will restore all your system files to a point where it once worked. The thing with the ERD is, if you didn't make one from your machine, it may not work. You're only supposed to use ERD's from your machine because it uses your system files. I have, however, used an ERD from another machine with success, but the two machines were almost identical.

If you have used an ERD and still can't fix the problem, you can install over the previous version. You won't lose sensitive data this way, may just lose some system settings.

Hit F8 at the W2K prompt. I think that the recovery option is there just follow the screen promts. Good Luck!
