Help!! Win2000 wont boot past the spash screen

Just had to reload Win200 on my computer. I thought all was going fine until I updated some windows patches and now I cannot get the boot past the "Windows" splash screen. The Progress bar at the bottom gets about half way through and it freezes.

I can get it to boot in safe mode but don't know what to do at that point.

I had similar problems once, and found that running chkdsk would fix it.

I forget what the flags are now, but be sure to tell it to fix all the errors.

[Bug]

You could use the apps on the Tools tab of the drive's Properties. Open Windows Explorer, right-click on the drive letter, go to Tools tab, and you'll see something for Error-checking.
You can do the same thing within Drive Management of the Microsoft Management Console within Admin Tools.

Well I think I figured it out. I just installed EASY CD Creator before all the problems started..I uninstalled and it appears to boot fine now. Always heard EASY CD Creator sucked, now I know.
