its racist.

and that way, the black ink is always occupying white area, giving the white that much more hate, however the white limits where the black can go, as the black can only go where this is white, but no further.

That was lame. To think about it, you are writing on a white paper. So you are abusing it. You can crumple it up, write on it of course, throw it away and do any number of things. Thanks for that, though.

a sound answer, pls!!!

It's already been answered; for contrast. Easy to read.

well, the question started with "who," not "why."

Just find out who the first guy who made paper was. He knew why paper should be white or at least as light in color as technologically possible as well as we do. So you can see what you write on it. The why is a no brainer, find the who.

So start with this.

The word paper comes from the ancient Egyptian writing material called papyrus, which was woven from papyrus plants. Papyrus was produced as early as 3000 BCE in Egypt, and in ancient Greece and Rome. Further north, parchment or vellum, made of processed sheepskin or calfskin, replaced papyrus, as the papyrus plant requires subtropical conditions to grow. In China, documents were ordinarily written on bamboo, making them very heavy and awkward to transport. Silk was sometimes used, but was normally too expensive to consider. Indeed, most of the above materials were rare and costly.

Mkay papyrus.

Papyrus is an early form of paper made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge that grows to 5 meters (15 ft) in height and was once abundant in the Nile Delta of Egypt. Papyrus is first known to have been used in ancient Egypt (at least as far back as the First dynasty), but it was also widely used throughout the Mediterranean region, as well as inland parts of Europe and south-west Asia.

So they don't mention any specific person. The best answer I can give you is:

Topic Title: help: who came up with the idea of making white paper...

Egyptians

Topic Summary: why should paper be white?

So you can see what you're writing on it.

That's one reason

For printing, as 95% of home users out there only have four color printing, when you want a lighter or a white color as part of a picture, you'll be required to have a white background.

As it has the most contrast when using black ink= easier to read, unless like you're reflecting the sun into your eyes.
