Hi.. Hope this question is clear and easy to answer.

I inherited a system. I know it is had a ECS K7S5A MB.. however I cannot fugure out which Athlon Processor I have.

When I go to System Properties in Win 2000 it only says AMD Athlon. No speed or anything.

When I do a reboot it shows the processor sped as 1150Mhz. ?

My question is did AMD make a 1150 Mhz or am I "under-over clocking" the cpu.

Also how can I tell if it is supposed to run at 133 or 100MHz?

Sorry if this is dumb question... I really do not want to take the fan off CPU to check.

THANKS

im also guessing that you are running an xp 1800 that is running with pc 100 ram and thus wont show up at the full rated speed. just a shot in the dark but ive had similar issues with running with under powered ram and the k7s5a pro.

Bingo.. It is indeed a XP 1800. I downloard CPUID and was able to determine the bois was misconfiguered and was running at 100Mhz. Bumped it to 133Mhz and now I am A-Ok.

Good !
