As most of you have seen before ME (HPKeeper) and my Buddy (Bowdown) work(ed) together for a long time at this restraunt As seen here:

Bowdowns Thread

Now, for the most part I like working at this place, I get about 20 - 30 hours per week, I do get along with the bosses fairly well, but it's nothing to get exieted about. Well BowDown up until that point had been the most veteran worker at the place, except for one guy who's been there for 15 years and is really a dope but knows what he has to do to get by. Anyways, ever since Bowdown left, my ex-boss (The cool one) has pretty much put me in charge of the place when none of the owners are there.
I highly respect this man, and he's constantly praising me on how good the food is that I put out and that he says he really respects my family and I for being the type people we are and that I've been able to deal so well with the new management. Now that my buddy Bowdown is gone and my other friend Ian are gone (who I've worked with forever) are talking to me, both have since gotten jobs, Bowdown is now getting paid $9/hr to wash dishes at a restraunt about 10 miles away and I'm at the highest rank at my buisness getting only $6.50/hr.
That's the main reason I'm asking you guys right now for your opinion should I leave or should I stay? Right now I have a job lined up at local radio station, I'm not sure about the pay yet, but I'd be getting about 15-30 hours per week and I'd be paid to carry equipment around, and set up equipment when they go places, and if there was an interview I'd be setting up for the bands that came in to play live (which I think is the cool part, basically all Bands start on local radio stations and move up I.E. - Limp Bizkit) So I'd get to meet band members. Now to most of you that would be a no-brainer and it is right now for me, but I don't want to leave the buisness I'm in right now, I like my ex-boss, and he's at the buisness frequently and he really patches anything up that is going wrong with our new boss... I think he's slowly trying to get back into the buisness, I don't want to leave the buisness but I do... do you get what I mean?
I want more pay, but I don't want to leave, although they won't pay me any more than I'm getting right now because they're cheap. If I go to the station I may get more pay and I will probably meet future if not present rockstars. I really want to go to the radio station but I Don't want my ex-boss that I currently have to lose the respect he has for my family and I, in fact, if he ever needed me to come in and work I'd be more than happy to, I love working for the guy... what do I do? stay or leave? PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!!!!

BTW: The Ex-boss is brother to my current boss... so he has heavy influence even though he doesn't run the buisness.

Also, since Both Ian and Bowdown left, It's been kind of boring to work there, I get along with all the workers, but none of them where really good friends like those two guys.

This is where you check your Priority list, and unless your list is F'ed up it should show that your job at the restaurant is BELOW your POTENTIAL at the Radio Station.

Remove emotion from this and your OBVIOUS answer is apparent.

And unless your Ex-Boss is a TOTAL Dick, he'll understand you've got a great opportunity elsewhere and wish you well. Nothing says you can't leave on GOOD TERMS!

Since you like that Ex-Boss so much, you should talk him into buying his own Radio Station. Then you could go work for him!

Is this regarding your lifetime career, or part-time jobs you have/would like to have while something else(example, education, fun, etc)?

pay, people, and work. Three things that determines whether I stay at particular job.

I'd say leave the job you have now. Pay sucks, work is okay, and all your friends are gone except maybe for your ex-boss factor.

Make sure you confirm other employment(pay, people, and work) first b4 you quit current job.

I'm 17.. I would hope my career would be further than making pizzas... that's like being a manager at McDonalds (no offense, I'm sure it pays good) but I'd like to go further than that in life. I realize this is a good oppertunity to maybe go onto college and maybe help out at the college radiostation, if nothing else, it is worth it just to go to the radio station for experience. But right now I'm kinda of confused about the whole Idea, as of now I plan on sticking to my current job, the pay may suck but I've got another what? 6 months or so and I'll have to quit anyways esspecially if I go away to school opposed to locally where I could still do either job.

Well don't let others get in the way of what would bennifit you. You are getting an ok wage, there's an ok atmasphere (sp.) to work in, it would be fine for the rest of the school year, but what do you have after? A refrence you can write down on another part time application that say I wasted 3 years working for $6.50 at an italian joint. If you can get anywhere near broadcasting it might open doors for future jobs, also if you are going to presue anything in that feild, and even if you don't get on the air, you will have the dreaded experiance.

Once I get out off college completely i have no computer experiance to back my computer science degree. What am i going to write down on my first computer job application for experiance? I worked 3 years in a restaurant?

With that said, if it's something you want to do, get the experiance to help you later. If it's not something that will help you stay where you are and hope the place doesn't go under.
