Help! What can I draw that symbolizes "PAIN"

Working on a poetry project, theme of poems just happens to be pain.
So now I need to draw something on the title page somewhat symbolizing pain.

a dying rose?

or some stick figures of a guy getting kicked in the nutbag.

Alright guys, thanks for all the advice. Got it done now :p

Ended up drawing the bloody dagger, but used most of the advice in decorating the poems.

to me, a bloody dagger seems to be more symbolic of anger and vengence. :frown:

In spite of the fact that the assignment is apparently done, I still think it's an excellent question with no satisfactory answer presented thus far. First of all, define "pain"; physical pain, emotional pain, sharp pain, suffering, agony, all of the above? While the image of Pinhead from Hellraiser comes close, I really can't think of anything...
