Kids aren't an investment. My parents will never see anything close to what they spent on me before they die and I expect when I have kids not to receive any meaningful return on investment from them either.

Your parents should have taught you how to play hockey. Spend a few hundred dollars on skate, pads, etc... After a few years, if you didn't look like you were going to pan out, they should just just drop you off in the wilderness, letting fate decide whether you live or die.

.... at least that is how people should be raised. That really lowers the costs of raising kids.

Well given the chasm in earning power I'm likely to peak at compared to my parents the only way I'll really ever be able to pay them back is if I become a professional NHL player or win a ton of money 🙂

What a sad state of affairs this thread represents. Steroids are incredibly useful for treating many diseases and conditions, but also incredibly dangerous when misused. There isn't any question that illegal use of steroids is a tragic situation, pretty much like all drug abuse.

I was reading throught the selection of quotes that were supposed to represent the positive side of the story, anyone who reads that and thinks there is anything positive there, is delusional to an extreme.

Of course it's almost impossible to reason with someone who is so desperate for the perceived benefit of using drugs, that they refuse to listen to the facts.
