Nope, still drawing a blank as to where you have the authority to call someone a noob and tell them to go away when they have a decent idea. Sorry, your overzealous attempt to defend AnandTech doesn't help either. All sites lack something.
ahem....the 13th dav of November in the year 2005 hasn't arrived yet.
I don't want to shoot down your idea Genesis, but I don't think you quite grasp the scope of what you're asking here. First, you need some form of content management...why? Because you're going to have content going up and expecting someone to do both HTML code AND write something that doesn't sound like drivel is a lot to ask out of paid employees.
Second, where are you going to acquire your information? Are you going to pay for a firm to put together the news in a cohesive format? Because actually acquiring content is a little more involved than going to your favorite tech site and browsing along. Indeed, you'll be competing against them for content.
Third, I don't quite understand how your site would be different from anand's? You aren't going to have an ecommerce section, anand already does forums and price guides, and they already do hardware reviews. There really isn't anything that makes you stand out from a myriad of me-too! sites out there.
Essentially, you may have in your mind a set of tasks that you may assume some people might find interesting or fun or even just trivial, what you have to understand though, to people who are in the field and actually do what you're asking on a day-to-day basis, it's the equivalent of saying "I crapped my pants, wouldn't you love to wash my clothes in that brook over there?" Essentially, a lot of stinky, time-consuming grumble mumble work for excessively little expected return and no direct compensation.
