What do I need, in terms of setting up my KK266-R mobo & Duron 750 w/ a peltier system? I tried to do it once before in the past, but I didn't know how to attach a HS/F b/c of the added width the peltier added to the CPU.

Do I put the peltier directly on the CPU, w/ a specialized HS/F combo with an extended clip? someone help me out here, thanks!

With the wattage peltier that you would need the only air-cooling that would work would be something like the swiftech, but you will be dumping over twice the heat into your case. I would consider a water cooler if you are serious about using a peltier on an AMD.

How expensive is a water cooled, peltier system, and how hot will the hot side of the peltier get?

I don't have a peltier setup, but have researched them quite a bit. My watercooler cost between $150-$200 after all the parts were bought and most of an evening to install. Add another $40 for peltier (122watt min) if you are planning on overclocking that duron. ~$50-$100 for dedicated 15v supply (most power supplies can't handle that level of peltier. And if you are planning on do this correctly you will need a cold plate, silicone grease, dielectric grease(or vaseline) and close cell foam at ~$20 dollars extra. The total looks like ~$260-$360. (for double this you can have a vapochill case that can maintain -19C)

There might still be other costs, but those are most of them. And you can get alot of stuff cheaper if you want to put it together yourself from scratch.

If the peltier is set up correctly, the difference from the hotside to the cold side will be ~60C. The better the water cooler the lower the cold side temp goes. I am guessing it will be somewhere in the 15-20C range. Those are typical for AMD setups. Colder at idle.

For details how to set it up go to Overclockers.com and look in their peltier section. There are lots of articles.

OMG, that's way too much for me to spend on a cooling solution. :)

I just want a lower level peltier to get my CPU temp down a bit, doesn't have to anything extremely low like -20C or anything.

I would just buy a swiftech then and you will be fine, it should maximize that durons overclock.
