ok I'm dual booting win98 and win2k. I have an asus a7v mobo and had to hook the ata100 hd up to the ata 66 channel to get 2k to load to it... Everything boots fine as long as I am on the ata66 channel but when i put the hd back on the ata100 channel i can't get into win2k. It starts loadin then pops up an error msg about checking disk for virus's (which i did) or uninstalling any new hd's and stuff. It all boots up fine when its connected to the ata66 channel (goes into both os's no probs). Anyone have any ideas how i can get win2k to work on my ata100 controller? Oh yeah i have service pack 1 installed also. Thx

posted 1st in operating systems and someone told me to try postin it in here, they thought there was a patch for it somewhere. thx

Try loading the promise Drivers as a SCSI controller this might help...One question Win2K did not recognize the controller the first time u installed Win2K on that Mobo?

Ok guess it was just a stupid mistake on my part :) i put it back on the ata66 controller and loaded the drivers for the promise ata100 controller and all is well.. thx for the help. I thought i would be able to do this w/it connected to the ata100 controller but i guess not.
