Help - Volume very low after hibernation - How to restore?

Hello? I accidentally hit the hibernation button on my keyboard and now the volume is extremely low even though it's turned way way up. My guess is that it's into the "nighttime" mode, but how do I restore back the volume? I've tried everything, hitting the "sleep" button again, etc... Thanks. This is for Win2000.
