Help! Video Camcorder information.

Can anybody give a comment on the difference between Sony, panasonic and canon products in Mini dv camcorder? Such as the night vision capability, still pictures (when video is being recorded?)

TIA

Do not rely on a camcorder for still images. That is all.

I have a panasonic and it's been very good to me. It was pretty much the bottom of the line for them when I bought it.

all three are good, dont rely on them for stills ~1.0mp max. Sony has the better nightshot, but i believe canon offers more optical zoom. Dont pay attention to the ~700x digital zoom.

I need a camcorder that can be upgraded with accessories, such as the light... it seems like sony has been the better one (from the linked site)

I think I will go with Sony.

OK.. I have come up with two final selection:

TRV-19 or TRV-22
Both are Sony, $599 and $799, repectively.

is the comparison- I don't really care about digital still. then, does $200 justigy the video difference? 690K Pixels vs 340K Pixels?

Your link doesn't work, but yes there is quite a difference quality wise between 690k and 340k. Well worth the extra $200 IMO. Sears carries Sony, and I'm pretty sure they still will pricematch off the net. A friend of mine got the TRV-27 that Ornery has linked, for under $500 there.
