Hi guys!

My 8800GTS 512MB just died, so I HAVE TO BUY a new VGA...

Don't want to spend too much money...really wanted to wait a little longer before upgrading since I still run a Q6600 DDR2 RIG...

I'll go as high as $200, maybe $250, but really would like to stay as low as possible...

What are my options here...

Thanks guys!

For about 150 you can get a good 5770. For about 230 you can get a 5830. The gap between the 2 is smaller than the price difference though.

GTX 260s are in the 230 price range but they will be slower than the 5830(and they dont support DX11) but these cards are drying up from retail pretty fast(apparently production of them has stopped or will be stopping in the near future).

Same suggestions i'd make. The 5770 is a pretty nice card for the price.
I got the Sapphire Vapor-X on newegg.ca for 169CAD. On newegg.com maybe you'll get it for a little less.

Nice and quiet fan keep the temp low, slight factory OC and plenty of room for OC!

Thank you all...

Well, isn't an ATI 4890 better than the 5770 VGA? (Except for the DX11 part...)

And isn't the 4890 also better than the GTX 260?

...I just got this from looking @ benchmarks from both the GTX 260 and the 5770 cards...

Yes , you might be able to score one of them used for about 170$.
