Hi,
Finally joining the club - have my 1st CDRW - it's a LiteOn 24x10x40, have had since January, finally, want to tackle creating my 1st home made CD to play in my car. This unit came with NERO - that is ALL I know about it.
Could someone please guide me to where I can easily learn how to FIND and Download/Record to CD's using NERO or some other software. Is NERO all I need? Please, the basic and simple HOW to and WHERE to go? And.......

a BIG Thank YOU! Michael

If you're going to just record basic music and data cd's you can use EASY CD CREATOR.

its as easy as it sounds...

You can do it very easily doing Nero. First of all, download the latest version of Nero if you haven't already done so.

Whe you start Nero does the wizard window pop up?? You should just be able to click the radio button for 'Create new music CD'. Then the Nero browser will open. Add all of the MP3s that you have (or WAV files, etc...) into the browser that you want on the CD, and in the order you want them. Then when you've filled the CD up (80 min), burn away. ;)

Yep, I agree, no need to mess with Easy CD Creator when you have Nero, creating an audio CD with Nero is as easy as it gets.

Yes Nero is the one to use, forget ezcd its a coaster maker in most cases. I know nero would be most peoples quick choice for this task, but I like to use an external program, music match. That is if your looking for an external prog, thought I would recommend it.

GREAT - tks for feedback! I am READING slowly as much info as can about this NERO program etc. and beginning to see- not as complicated as it first seems. BUT - I see you can do .wav files, mp3's, and some other one - BUT - have not read where you can download an MP3 file - then convert it to play on a CD - - - seems like everything points toward, mp3's must be played on mp3 Players. ????
I am using W'XP Home - looked at it too - seems you download the music into Media Library then use Media Player to record to Cd??

Where are best places to go to download FREE music files?

<<Where are best places to go to download FREE music files?>>

That you have to find out yourself. If we post any links or tell you any programs, this thread will be locked in no time. And there is no such thing as free music, just as the old saying "there is no free lunch". You don't walk into a store and take CDs with you without paying. Also, you do not need media player to do any of this, Nero itself is more than capable of converting almost every popular music file type to CD format.

I find a lot of free music from mp3.com. I find a lot of good music from bands that are lesser known and even some of well known bands post some music. It's a good way to sample their music.

You also don't have to use mp3s. If you have a lot of audio cds and like a few songs from each cd you can rip them to your hard drive and burn a 'favorite' cd.
