Hi,

I recently purchase a refurb 8KHA+ from Newegg. It arrived in what appeared to be new packaging although I think it might be for the 8KHA but that's not important. Mine did not have either the N+ or U= on the bios chip. It just has gold dots all over the place.

My problem is this:

Minor Problem:

I cannot get through installation or into WIndows with any of the USB ports enabled. I am trying to load XP pro and it gets a blue screen with what would seem to be an IRQ issue pertaining to a usb.sys file (can't remember name) I am not on that machine right now as if I was I wouldn't have internet access which brings me to my second and problem and what to me is the worse of the two.

Major Problem:

What happens here is that my NIC is detected and would seem to work fine as it shows a connection light and processed all packets when pining itself (I'm no expert though). I went through all the steps with my ISP (second level at ATT) and everything seemed to check out but my PC wasn't grabbing a IP number so no internet connection. And in case you need to know it is AT&T cable internet I am trying to connect to.

Everything was functioning normally, no conflicts an all my settings were correct. This was just palin weird to me, the only thing new in the sytem was the 8KHA+, new retail 1700+ and 256mb DDR. I tried numerous bios adjustments with no success.

So I take the NIC out and put it back into the old computer, reload XP and that's what I am typing on right now.

Any ideas as to what this is please let me know so I can avoid RMAing it as they said they were out of stock and I have to send my old mobo out to somebody ASAP. Or if you can just help me get to the conclusion a RMA is needed faster it would be much appreciated. I just ordered a Soltek SL-75DRV2 but I am nost sure I want to give up on the 8KHA+

Thanks!

normally xp doesn't require the 4 in 1's, but in your case it may be benificial, also check www.usbman.com, navigate to the download section, and select the via links and find which files pertain to your configuration, I would grab the filter patch, and pci latency patch.
