Hello. I work for ReturnBuy and I'm trying to find out what people like and don't like about our site. As some of you may know, we were just acquired by Jabil Global Services, so now that we're out of any financial trouble, it's full steam ahead!

I would very much appreciate any feedback you would be willing to provide.

Please let me know any or all of the following (or whatever else comes to mind) :

- What you think of when you hear ReturnBuy?
- Do you trust ReturnBuy? Why or why not?
- Do you understand our product categories and classifications?
- Do you think you can return your purchases from ReturnBuy?
- What else would you like to see at ReturnBuy?
- Do you find our website easy to use - why/why not?
- Why would/wouldn't you buy from ReturnBuy?

There are dozens more questions I could ask. Feel free to answer any of these or just tell me anything else you'd like.

Again, your help goes very appreciated.

Thanks!

- Aaron

Fairly decent website. My two main questions upon going there were:

A) What is "like new" and "unique", etc.
B) What kind of manufacturer warranty pertains to used items?

Both were answered quickly using the links at the top of the page, good job. However considering you probably don't ship to Canada I won't be shopping there.

Hint to get business around these parts: I have no clue why you would want us for customers...we'll leech you of every dollar you've got. If you're hellbent on getting us, consider adding a few online GOOD coupons or discounts - and keep shipping low. Eating the loss for a little while and establishing yourself around these parts will probably go a very long way towards website visibility "out there". Good luck.

Do you really want answers, considering you're charging $3K for a $1200 camera? And it's only in "Like new" condition, otherwise known as "used".

1 - Like-new is not otherwise known as used - however this conception is part of the problem. more on this later... let's see what other people say...

2 - that e-10 listing is for 5 e-10's, not just 1, so in fact it's $600 each; half of your suggested $1200 price.

- What you think of when you hear ReturnBuy?
First I think of Who? And then I think of all the troubles I will have returning something that I bought there.

- Do you trust ReturnBuy? Why or why not?
No -- Never heard of them

- Do you understand our product categories and classifications?
Didn't even look at your site to give it a chance.

- Do you think you can return your purchases from ReturnBuy?
From the name I would think so.. But from your question I guess not.

- What else would you like to see at ReturnBuy?
How about they do their own research on their bandwith, and not Anand's.

- Do you find our website easy to use - why/why not?
Didn't even give it a shot.

- Why would/wouldn't you buy from ReturnBuy?
Until you show me why I should buy there, I wont. What I mean by that, is give Great prices, Great Service, and Fast Shipping.

My vote is for cheaper prices. For some reason, GTA3: Vice City (used) is selling for the same price as other places that are selling them new..

my bad then. I read it a little too fast. I certainly don't have a problem with that price:).

first off, your name sucks. ReturnBuy? sounds like a scam in the works. I guess the layout isn't too shady, but the name *shudders*

Secondly, the site design is pretty bland. I dunno. I think like many people on this forum I have a loyalty to Newegg and Mwave. They are probably the best retailers on the net and I don't mind paying a little more there because I know they deliver what was promised.

what made you trust sites like newegg and mwave to begin with? remember at 1 point, they were just like us - a new guy on the block.

You MUST get a new name. The name does not work for me at all... sounds like something thought up in 15 seconds flat. Go back to the drawing board with that one.

Your site layout is fine.

I have used returnbuy a couple of times and have been extemely pleased with my purchases.

As far as answers to your questions:

1. I think of a place that has deals sometimes, but they come and go pretty quickly.
2. I trust them. The site has pretty much all the info you need on the particular item.
3.Yes, but sometime the drop down type menu is difficult to navigate. and whats with Car speakers in the home audio section?
4. I would assume that if it was not as advertised I could retun it, yes.
5. I would like to see more stuff in general. There is a seriously dwindling supply of items.
6. It is about a 5 overall on a scale of 1-10. The navigation is funky ( i dont know how else to say it)
7. I think they offer an exception deal if you can deal with the fact that the stuff isnt brand new. Like I said I have bought from there before and would again if the had something I wanted.

The name sounds ok. Makes people think you're related to buy.com or bestbuy.com.

- What you think of when you hear ReturnBuy?

A website like epinions.com where I would get to discuss stores I would do go back again because of good service.

- Do you trust ReturnBuy? Why or why not?

Never dealt or heard of them.

- Do you understand our product categories and classifications?

Yes, they look well divided.

- Do you think you can return your purchases from ReturnBuy?

Probably not.

- What else would you like to see at ReturnBuy?

Don't know about that.

- Do you find our website easy to use - why/why not?

Yeah. The navigation on the side is very convinient.

- Why would/wouldn't you buy from ReturnBuy?

Why can't I just go to Ebay or Half.com and buy from a trusted dealer?

I started buying from Newegg because people on these forums recommended them. Generally, I think, they spread by word-of-mouth for having resonable prices, fast delivery, and good customer spport.

- What you think of when you hear ReturnBuy?

That I should be afraid to buy anything from this place, because they are selling other peoples' returns!

- Do you trust ReturnBuy? Why or why not?

If there was a product that I was interested in, I might give them a chance. At this point, the "Hot Deals" are crap like GoVideo VCRs/DVD players. When I see that kind of junk, I will think less of the company for carrying it, and it makes me feel like all of their stuff is going to be cheap. (Often, that means that the customer gets ripped off for buying such a cheap piece of crap.)

- Do you understand our product categories and classifications?
Yes, although you don't have very many products right now.

- Do you think you can return your purchases from ReturnBuy?
I'd hope so!! And if the product was defective out of the box, I'd expect ReturnBuy to pay for my return shipping.

- What else would you like to see at ReturnBuy?
Better quality stuff! Don't use the "Unique" or "New" graphics. Just list the quantity available, and keep it real time.

- Do you find our website easy to use - why/why not?
Not the most intuitive, but not bad.

- Why would/wouldn't you buy from ReturnBuy?
The idea is sound. Many places sell items that have been returned. Just state your warranty up front so customers have piece of mind that the product will work. Give them a no-hassle return policy, so that even if the product works, they can still return it if they don't like it. (You sell returned items anyway, so why not offer this?)
OFFER FREE SHIPPING! That is the biggest way that internet companies are growing right now! No one knows how much you pay for a return item, so just include free shipping in the price. Then advertise that the shipping is free!

Still, I wouldn't buy from ReturnBuy because I don't see any products that I want.

EDIT: I'm not a big fan of all-in-one electronics stores or websites. They tend to feel like they are rip offs. Specialize in one area, or develop more than one website and each of those needs to specialize in an area. (computer, car audio, other stuff...)

I've never heard of the place, and thus I most likely won't shop there until it gets a good reputation. From my quick glance it looked like a place that only sells returned items. Returned items often are not functioning 100% perfectly. So I would be taking a risk to buy from you. For that reason I wen't to your link for 'satisfaction guarantee'. Sadly it didn't help me, but instead told me to go to a web page but didn't say where (a link would have been nice - or even shockingly have the return policy informaiton in the satisfaction guaranteed link where most people will look first). Ok after a few more minutes searching I finally find your return policy:
"ReturnBuy will accept returns for those items which were posted with incorrect information, wrong item shipped or damaged in shipment"
Sadly you only will let us return it if it was damaged during shipping - not if it was damaged to begin with. Stop! I will not buy anything from you then. I won't read on, I won't ever look anywhere else on your website for more information.

But to be helpful to an Anandtech member, I will read on (but I will never buy from you).
"ReturnBuy will refund the purchase price, original shipping and handling expense, and 50% of the original shipping and handling charge for your return shipping."
So if I bought a product that was defective (but wasn't damaged in shipping), I cannot return it. Maybe, just maybe with tons of begging and pleading I can get you to return it, but I'm still out 50% of the return shipping costs. Too risky to me. You want me to go out on a limb, buy a used part, from a company that I know, that won't easilly accept a return if the product they sold me was broken, and then pay 50% of the return shipping costs? Sounds to me with my bad luck, that I'm guaranteed a bunch of hastle and to lose 50% of my money - all for nothing. Sorry, not going to happen. If return shipping on a product that was bad was free, I'd consider it.

If you want more info from me, you'll have to do me a favor. Add something useful to the threads around here. It looks like all of your posts have been ads for ReturnBuy or complaining about Hot Deals. I specificially remember your first post (which gave me a bad impression of you). It went something like this "Why should I care about this deal?".

There have to be reasons why people keep mentioning Newegg when online shopping for computer parts is mentioned. They have taken time and effort to build themselves as the touchstone of Internet shopping.
Instead of asking me why i wouldn't buy from ReturnBuy, maybe you should tell me the reason why i should buy from returnBuy. ReturnBuy is too new for people to have opinions about it. However, judging from the name as the first impression, i wouldn't shop at some place that is called returnbuy.

You don't need input, you need customers.
There are always adventurers who will try out new stores.
If you provide them with attractive prices and good services, they will rave about your site.
I ordered from Newegg when it was still fairly new, I got the package 4 days after I placed the order.
I ordered again and the same experience.
Then I started to recommend to my friends and many forums.
