I was wondering if I am able to upgrade my laptop's CPU I have a merom T5500 C2D 1.66 in it now can I upgrade for example to a Intel Mobile T8100 2.1 3meg Cache 45nm that I seen on the FS/T forum. If not whats the biggest processor that can go in my laptop? Do I have to stick with 65nm or can I go 45nm. Any help will be greatly appricated.

BTW is there anyway I can upgrade my video card I have 945 express intergrated graphics and it sucks. It is the only thing that is holding me back from playing any good games. I read somewhere that people are upgrading Dell laptops with better video cards. My system configuration is below.

C2D Merom 1.66 T5500
2gigs of DDR2
160GIG Harddrive
dvd-rw
945express mobile chipset
intergrated graphics
wireless G
modem
ATT wireless card

First question - Is it still under warranty?
Fiddling will void any remaining warranty. You can't say you haven't been warned...

You have no chance of upgrading the GPU.
You may be able to install a T7000 series chip, the T8000 series and T9000 series both require the 965 chipset rather than the 945 which your laptop has.

Thanks, I dont think I have a warranty left I will check. The GPU was my main concern I may try to sell this computer so I can get one with some kind of GPU in it.
