i need help uninstalling win xp. i tried the uninstall win xp in the add/remove program menu but i get an error saying "win xp cannot be uninstalled because the hard drive partition configuration has changed since upgrading. setup requires the original hard disk configuration to properly uninstall to your previous version of windows." now how do i uninstall it? i had win98 then upgrade it to win xp and chage a partition into ntfs. now i want win 2000 on it.

back up your user data. reformat and install win2k. You can reformat the partition/HD while installing win2k as well.

Changing to the NTFS filesystem is a one-way operation. Since Win9x can't read ntfs, and you can't go ntfs to FAT, you have to reinstall.

the operating system is on a drive that is fat32 and i also have another drive that is in ntfs. i would like to keep what i have in the drive with the operating system.
