Hey guys, this might be a noob question but i'm sure it would help everyone to know the answers to these questions (especially me):

What does a Amd 3200+ socket 939 compare to in Intel standards?
tried searching on google for a good conversion chart but didnt find anything.

An Opteron 165 (dual core 1.8 ghz) oc'ed to 2.6 ghz, i'm sure that means both cores are 2.6 ghz... What would this be in single core AMD and Intel standards?

more questions on its way...

Thanks in advance

ok, the "3200+" means that it roughly performs like a 3.2ghz pentium 4. however, in most apps, especially games, AMD wins, and it wins in power, and heat. also, a 2.6ghz dual core will run the same as a 2.6ghz single core if only one thing is running. however, if you are running lots of stuff, (multitasking) then, dual core has the advantage. also, programs will soon be multithreaded, meaning they can use both cores.

... Would the 2.6ghz beat an amd 3200+ then? especially in gaming? video? From reading a few threads it kinda sounds like the answer is yes. If it is faster, by how much is it faster?

:-\ i know its a lot of q's but i want to learn before i buy and also just to be informed.

They've got tons of charts of benchmarks of pretty much every AMD & Intel CPU around today... even back a few years. Plus there are some charts there that show all the variations of Intel & AMD CPU's. It's a really nice article. I read the whole thing, believe it or not.
