HELP! Unauthorized $495.00 Charge on my Mastercard!!!

WTF? Today I get a bill for my Mastercard and there is a $495 charge on it by something called "Flick's Software" in CA. What the hell? There is a phone number, but when I tried yesterday I got a machine that says to leave a message. Nothing like "Welcome to ............."
number is 2122027903
Can somebody please find out what this company does or what company it is??? I am in FL so its loooong distance..🙂

Call your CC and dispute the charge. Then immediately follow up with a letter that you send certified w/return receipt to the CC company. Read the back of you statement, it should give you the address to send disputes to.

I know I have to dispute, but what company is it and how did it get my CC number???!!!! This is the 1st time anything like this has ever happened to me!

Found these phone #'s for Flick's Software

3103965568 - Venice, CA
3105260325 - Santa Monica, CA

they also have a website flicks.com

dispute it with the CC company and also contact your local police. there is a CC fraud case here and the person who stole your number could have hundreds of other #'s as well.

I called the number and got an answering machine that didn't even have a message. Sounds like something is definately up. I would call your credit card company immediately.

sorry to hear that techie...dispute that then try to find the person who did it...it will be a long hard search though.....

anyone interested in a webquota?

wow, thanks for your help guys. Looks like ill just give my credit card company a call and cancel the credit card also. BUT am I supposed to call my local police considering it was probably stolen off of the internet???

Sometimes people accidently punch in the wrong numbers when charging a credit card. There are so many cards out there today that the wrong number is bound to belong to someone else.

not flick again..

those idiots caused me a headache.. (and my friend too - about 2 years before)

dont ask me where they got it from but my bank / cc company said somehow someone used my card # to do some online porn surfing.. one of those sites where they say put your card # in and for 3 days you got free deal.

Call your CC.. if you didnt go any online shopping. All I can say is ask them for a new card...

edit: I hadnt bought anything with my cc online.. infact this was a CC that I hadnt even used in a while.. so I was a bit surprised to see that charge.

What F***ing morons......this is the reply I got after emailing sales department:

>>I believe this explanation is likely correct.
>>That telephone number is not one that I am familiar with.
>>Perhaps it's best if you contact your credit card company and dispute the
>>charge.

I remember reading something a while ago on cnn about one of the companies that processes credit card info for all the major companies, and it got hacked. I think 8 million card numbers were taken, and of that 8 million something like 2.6 were mastercard. Maybe yours was one of them.

you dont need to cancel the card yet... just dispute the charges, the CC company wont charge you for something you didnt get. If the vendor has a problem with that, they can take it up with VISA (or whoever)
