I have 2 winxp pro machines setup on a home network. It is hardwired in my house

I have a MR814V2 router that has cable modem connected to it...then I have 2 computers on the network each has a printer attached.

Computer one: P4 2.4@3.0 with HP 930c printer
Computer 2: Athlon 1700@1900 with Canon S820

I can see both computer folders on the network..transfer files, both work on thei nternet no issue...but when I try to print a document on computer 2 to the HP printer connected on computer 1 ...I get a failed to print message...I had this setup and working about 2 months ago..I then reformatted the computer 1 and now this is not working...

Also note I can not seem to print a document on computer 1 with the canon printer on computer2

Are the printers shared? Do the accounts on each machine match the other? Proper drivers installed for each?

I have the printers set to shared and I have installed the HP drivers on both machines as well as canon software on each machine

The computers can get their respective printer to print without an issue.

Just can not print over the network...

Also the printers when you open Network places say "ready"....

Workgroup name is the same for both computers....the network works fine..can open files and transfer data without a hitch..just can not get the printers to work over the network..I have tried deleting the the respective printer and reinstall using winxp pro wizard to no avail..also tried the winxp pro troubleshooter but that was no help...

Double check each shared printer's share name to make sure it is the same as it shows under the Printer settings

Single left click on the start button from the desktop, left click on Settings, left click on Printers and faxes, single right click on the specific printer icon and single left click on "Sharing"
