I smell a bunch of jerks jumping all over someone who is obviously new here. Chill out guys. Surely there's someone posting a coupon code somewhere you can go tattle on.
happykitten: If you haven't already, check out the original thread for this deal
here. A number of people talked about their experience installing the camera, and I think several of them had some quirks with Windows 2000.
My suggestions are this: First of all, make sure the camera is unplugged. The installation software will tell you when to plug it in. Don't plug it in until then. Use the Add/Remove programs control panel to remove whatever software you've already installed, or partially installed, and restart your computer. Then start the installation fresh, without the camera plugged in.
There are updated drivers on Kodak's Web site, but you shouldn't need them, since the version we were all shipped alleges compatibility with Win2K (though I highly suggest grabbing them after you've done the initial install).
Feel free to private message me if you're still having trouble, and I'll do my best to help you out.
Finally, as I'm sure you've gathered by now, there are strict rules around here on what can be posted where (and, as you can also see, lots of people love to play Hall Monitor and call people out when they violate the precious rules). This "Hot deals" board is only for posting links to hot deals. There are separate hardware forums where you can discuss hardware. However, since there already was a hot deal on this (see my link above), you would likely get the best response by posting your question in that thread, since many of the people who bought the camera still monitor that thread when there are new posts.
Welcome to the forums.
