I've got a really old network sitting here, and the network cables here has ends with pins! I was wondering if anyone knew the name of this type of connection because I need to upgrade to a new nic, and need a converter to change that type of connection to an rj45 connection.

Why not get a new NIC that does have BNC connectors? Outpost has a 10bt pci card with rj45 and bnc connectors for ~$10-12+

Hi MrX,

Are you sure it's a BNC connection? i thought that uses a coaxial cable. These old ones that are here have 15pins in it...

Thanks.

If you have 15 pins, then you have an AUI connection. That is the
old standard for Thick-Net, and you need a transceiver to convert
from AUI to 10 base2. Many flavors/types. Just look for transceivers.
