Ok...I have an Ultra X-Connect 500 psu (titanium with see-thru blue UV sides) and a BUNCH of special ordered cables. I've never powered it up yet thanks to items I'm still waiting for which should arrive today. I've recently heard bad stuff about them and was told to go with a different PSU. What I want to know is this...

Should I keep this thing or sell it before I even turn it on?

and

If I sell it what do you guys think about the OCZ PSU's? I was looking at the 520 Mod Stream and the 520 Power Stream, but I wanted the 600 watt one but some people say don't go with that one stick with the 520. What's the big difference between all 3 units other then power and the mod stream has modular cables like the Ultra.

If you would recomend a different PSU please let me know. My Sig has what I intend on running. Thanks...

Sell it or return it if possible. That's gonna be a real nice rig and I wouldn't take the chance on the X-Connect.

I like Enermax and Fortron. But looks like you want a modular and I've no experience with those.

Enjoy your new build!

I should probably state that Modular would be nice...but I prefer function over form. Yeah sure i want a nice looking case...but I would rather have one that preforms better then it looks.

To get PSU suggestions, create a post over in "Cases & Cooling", or better yet just do a search on that forum. That's where PSU questions & recommendations are usually handled.

since you invested in modular calbes, get the antec neopower which is a good company and is modualr.

if you just forget about modualr, I would get the fortron blue storm 500

The OCZ PS 520w is the best you mentioned (besides the 600w, but I would rather go with a PC P&C 519). What are you looking to power? Are you overclocking? How much are you willing to spend? If you want something cheaper a Fortron would be your best bet.

Well right now I will be doing what's in my sig, but I will be adding either an Audigy 2 or the new X-Fi sound card, another BFG 7800gtx (in a year), after that I don't know, I like to have reserve power but I don't want to spend more then I have to. I won't mind spending the 200 on the OCZ 600...but if there is something better...I'll go that route.

If you want a quality PSU for a good price I would recommend the Sparkle FSP550-60PLG.
