Am I the only one who includes oil I used in my own cooked meals when I calculate my macros?

Need some help and thoughts here... I am a beginner at this macro-diet thing since i picked up this routine just a week ago! Just yesterday, it suddenly occurred to me that i have not been considering oil in my macro calculation. Now im starting to consider the oil i cook with in my macro calculations for every meal, because im thinking it has quite a bit of fats in it...

BUT..
Am i being too calculative? Oil is an important ingredient in every meal right..

Also, anybody out there who wants to/have been measuring oil in their homecooked meals? Do you guys feel that its difficult to measure oil when cooking?

Anyone who is serious about counting macros should also be counting the amount of cooking oil used. It's far too easy to pour in some oil and immediately add 200 cal + that is not represented in your overall daily.

With that said, I'm very loose with my macro counting of oil, but I'm also not seriously looking at cutting weight. I only use oil for cooking in perhaps one meal that is any significant amount so I can generally get away with not counting it.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who literally measure everything that goes into each meal they cook. If you want to add the oil in but don't desire to portion it out then you could take a few minutes and familiarize yourself with the general quantity of oil you use for various meals. From there you'll know that for this meal it's around 100cal or this meal it's 150cal. It's better than not counting but it's not getting to the point where you feel it's over board.

When getting started it is best to weigh everything and log it. Once you do that for a few days you should be able to eyeball things like oil and estimate. Then just measure closely once every 2 weeks or so to recalibrate your eyeball.

It's not as much about the macro breakdowns (though if you are tracking for a bodybuilding event, then it's that too) but more about total calories.
