Hi all,

so this morning in my gmail spam folder is a bunch of return to senders for spam e-mails that I of course never sent...they were sent to much of my gmail address book. It shows that they were sent at 12:26 a.m. last night....I'm not sure how these things work, but does the infected computer have to be on at the time that the e-mails are sent? If so I know which computer is infected. And most importantly, how do I get rid of it! Running NOD32 with latest updates. frown.

TIA,
Mitch

One possibility is that your gmail account has been hacked. In that case, it could be used to send Spam from anywhere in the world. As a precaution, change your password to a new, strong password. Update NOD32 and run a full-system scan as well, never hurts to check again.

thanks guys, noticed this first thing in the morning and panicked...came to my senses and unplugged all the internet/network connections/changed PW's/ran Schaendorf's removal script...problem is I had to leave town right after that and won't be able to confirm it's fixed for a few weeks. Oh well, can't worry about it till then I suppose.

Thanks all for the input.
