(Help!) Thief 2 running under XP Pro SP1a

Here is what happens. I get no problem till I hit continue on the mission briefing screen once I create a new game. From there it is a black screen. I have tried the "safe_texture_manager" in the USER.cfg and cam.cfg, installed XP hotfix, and installed Indeo Codecs (v5)[located on Game disc] but to no avail.
Any help would be greatful.

Hmmm- just curious. Did you install the patch for the game? There is a patch avaliable for the game. You'd have to download it from FilePlanet or somewhere since Looking Glass Studios is now defunct. I do know I tried running the game on my son's Geforce MX 400, & it wouldn't even run. The Patch
