What kind of self respecting business would allow your indoor temp to get that high? I know how cold it is outside where you are so it has to cost them a fortune to keep indoor temps that high. Go propose a cost cutting initiative and watch temperatures plummet alongside 'bring in a coat' memo distribution.

Holy crap that's hot; the thermometer here is always at 65 (in winter, in Michigan) and it's upstairs, so downstairs sits in the lower 50s. I put lots of blankies on my bed and wear a sweatshirt and everything is fine.

Not what the OP is talking about, but this drives me crazy. Some people don't understand how thermostats work. They get cold so they set it to 85 thinking it will get warm faster. Then they get hot and turn it down to 50 thinking it will get cold faster. Back and forth all day. GAAAAHH!!!! Set it to 72 and forget about it.

We have heat again. I think it is around 70-72 in here. Feels similar to what I have my home set to.

Amazingly they never did send us home yesterday even though heat (& hot water) was not restored until after 1pm!

Any other of our 32 offices in Ontario would have been shut down for sure, within the hour. Unfortunately, the person calling the shots sits in a cozy corner office and had a small personal heater plugged in under her desk, keeping her nice and warm! fail!

With a name like NuclearNed, I would think you'd be able to handle WAY hotter than 83.5 🙂

I had that same problem in my office last year. It was 82 degrees from 11-5 every day of the winter. It's really hard to dress for winter outside and tropical weather inside. Once it got that hot, I found it too hot to work and therefore didn't 🙂 It only gets up to 79 now. Still too hot for someone who likes it to be 69, but at least it's bearable. My office is 25 women and 3 men. I would say that 15 of the women have space heaters and run them all day every single day of the year. When they complain about it being too cold but wear skirts and sleeveless shirts, it really annoys me.
