yesterday my 2 month old MSI K7t266 pro2 mobo gave out and died. i went to frys, picked up a new 300w PSU and a new mobo (same one, to test and make sure its the mobo that broke) well, i put the motherboard in, and i hit the power button. same thing, no power or response whatsoever. basically the computer cannot power up, and hitting the power button yields no response.

i changed the RAM to mushkin ddr ram, and still nothing happen. i took out my old fried k7s5a and tried it, and ahoy, the power would come on, but the mobo was dead so it would do nothing afte powering up except idle.

im completely stumped, any suggestions?

try it out of the case..set the board on the box and just try with cpu/ram vid card installed. you may be grounding on the case

Also, just boot with the necessities like processor, video card, and ram, leave everything like network, sound, etc. out.
