Help system wont boot

I finished putting together a system as follows: Amdk62 350 mhz, Fic Pa-2013 mobo, Maxtor 8.5 gig hd, Win2k. This is my older computer and is gonna go to my little brother,used to have 98 on it. Problem is the system won't boot, after it runs past the system set up and memory test I get "running DmI", here is where I usually get the splash screen but it never comes up. The screen stays blank and beeps every few minutes. I know the HD works cause I took it out and booted up in another machine and I can go into Win2k normally. The monitor I tested on anther computer and it worked fine. I had a hard time following the train of thought on the FIC for this board but says it might be the bios or memory. Any other guesses.
 
Sounds like a IRQ conflict, try assigning IRQ's in the BIOS, what chipset does that MB contain, and what Video card are you using?
