Help! svchost using 528MB of RAM

Ok, so I used Process Explorer to see what was going on and the instance of svchost that is utilizing the 528MB of RAM and 100% of CPU every few seconds is apparently running wuauclt.exe which it says is Automatic Updates. Does this make any sense? When I restart it starts off small and the amount of RAM it's using just keeps increasing.

Help! my system is slow as molasses!

Thanks for the link TGS. It didn't really explain whether or not what I'm experiencing is normal or not though. Now it's up to 662MB!!!

First, which svchost? You'll have several running.

What you want to do is go snag a copy of "tasklist" (been too long, can't tell you where) and run it with the /M switch to see what modules are running under each svchost.

That should start you in the right direction to see what's misbehaving (if anything).

High memory usage isn't always a problem. If your computer were always running at it's most efficient it would use 100% of memory at all times for *something*. It just depends

I already used Process Explorer by sysinternals to find out what it was and it's saying it's "Automatic Updates", however I don't have the update thing in my system tray or anything.
