Help!!!! Speaker Stands for Z-680!?!?!?

Hey guys! I have finally decided that I need a pair of speaker stands since placing those satellite speakers on the couch just doesn't work anymore--they fall down and getr moved around way too easily.

I searched all over google, Anandtech, and Fatwallet, but it seemed that the general consensus was that this speaker stand from Walmart worked the best.

The same set can be found at Buy.com a bit cheaper with free shipping here.

A picture gallery link I found a Fatwallet.com showed a picture of Z-680 satellite speakers with speaker stands, but they were different from the Walmart/Buy.com stands.

If you have gotten the Walmart speaker stands to work with the Z-680s, please post picture sand explain how you managed to get around the odd angle of the Z-680 speakers.

Much appreciated,
Aoshi

Okay, I just checked the 680 speakers, they are the same speaker type as the 560s that I have.

There are few ways to mount these speakers, but here's my favorite. If you look at the feet, there are 2 holes where the rubber grommet type thing is. The flange where the speaker legs is attached to teh speaker housing is at 45 degrees. You can remove the speaker legs, and mount them such that they are vertical. This method is best to mount the speakers on a vertical surface. Play with it anyway you want to get them mounted.

Hey! Thanks for the reply! I really appreciate the response, but I have already reversed the leg mounting which did reduce the moving of the speakers but not nearly enough. What I was wondering is if anyone has actually purchased a set of speaker stands that is compatible with the Z-680s.

Thanks in advance.!

My old roommate had the z-640s. They, like the Z-680s have the same slanted corner (60 degrees), which gives it the odd angle in comparison to other speakers which mount at 90 degrees.

hey guys, i'm looking for the same advice as well... gosh, i wish there were some way to find out who submitted that pic so we could get the info on the stands!!!

btw: from the link listed (images.ranova.org) i went to www.ranova.org and there's an email contact there. i wonder if he'd mind it if someone asked...? hahaha...

I have a simiilar set of cheap stands with the Z640s. I hate how they're angled when they're mounted, but what I did was raise the height of the stands so that the speakers point towards my ears.
