:Q Here is the story so far. Bought a Soyo SY-K7VTA mb & Duron 700. Hooked it up with a STB Nitro 3D PCI and two 3dfx Voodoo2's SLI. Set bios to default on processor and memory clock. Thing would not boot or hung going into Windows. Tried an ATI Rage IIc AGP and it would boot but the screen had pink vertical line anomolies everywhere. Installed a Creative Annihilator2 MX DDR. Boots now but crashes two minutes into games or programs( MS Combat Sim 1&2 ; Heavy metal ; Nero CD-ROM burn ). Radio chatter and gun sounds in CFS2 drag horribly until complete lock up. Latest Soyo bios and VIA 4in1 driver install is no help. Ran SiSoft SandraPro latest version which is supposed to be 100% compatible with the AMD Duron and VIA KT133 chipset. Sandra says front side bus is running at 100MHz x 2=200(correct)X 7.0 clock= 700MHZ. The memory is shown as being clocked at 150MHz. I'm using Pny 128 meg PC133 Cl3. But the clock divider is shown as 1/2, therefore the AGP bus shows to be running at 100MHZ, the PCI bus at 50MHz and ISA bus at 13MHz (all three way over spec.) No setting in bios for clock divider or manual jumper settings to change clock divide used for memory,AGP,PCI or ISA. I've read a little about the PLL clock being responsible for setting clock divider for buses but I'm not sure I read that right. What does set the clock dividers for the different buses? What am I missing here? Thanks for any help or suggestions!
