help....sound card crashing system

amd 1 Ghz tbird
win98se
asus a7v
256 mb pc133 ram
wd 40 gig 7200 rpm uata 100 hd
monster mx300 sound card

sound card has latest drivers but every time an application with
sound runs, it freezes systems. have card on 3rd pci slot.

please help with any advice...thanx in advance

Do ya have soundblaster emulation enabled? have ya tried disablin....if your not sure how read this.
otherwise have ya checked to see if you have any IRQ conflicts, is the soundcard sharing with anythin?...if so try movin it to another slot.

no irq or dma conflicts....
i'm using diamond's latest mx300 drivers, and i don't remember what version cause i'm not on my athlon machine while writing this.... anyway, i'll give it a try tonight...thanks

Hey that card still rocks....my MX300 is still going stong, unless ya have already, you should download the drivers from Aureal...those Diamond drivers suck....install these drivers, these are the latest from Aureal before they went bye bye but they still work good...

make sure ya unistall, all diamond related crap first, including drivers.
