HELP something jsut went screwy with my Radeon 8500

Ok.. I was trying to start up battlefield and it kept crashing before loading into the game. So I went to change my desktop res to 800x600 and this is what happned:

I get Black and white horizontal bars, with colored dots covering them all over the screen.

Anyone have any clue what this is?

I have a retail radeon 8500 128mb LE, with a non-le bios. I've had it flashed to non-le bios for over a year now with no problems at all.

I have never had anything like this happen to me before.

Specifically, what kind of power supply do you have, and how many fans are installed in your box? Giving us your system info at the top would help us more. Peace.

Well everyone, I figured it out. It was the newest catalyst drivers. I rolled back my drivers, and now everything is fine.

I have a cheap PSU.. but its worked great for a very long time. I know you should buy a good PSU.. but I have serious budget constrints

Sounds like you've had it flashed with the 9100 BIOS. Apparently, the Cat 3.5 drivers had an issue with the 9100 in OpenGL. They have since released a hotfix for it.
