Help! Solve this riddle with my comp!

My comp using asus P55T2P4 socket 7. Have it for about 8 years. Suddenly it will not boot even from disk. It will pos but hang when trying to boot from disk/hard disk. When I reset it, it will not even pos. But it will pos after letting it rest for few hours.
 
Have you tried replacing the CMOS battery?

The P55T2P4 is one of the greatest motherboards of all time, in my opinion.
 
Open it up and clean it. The fans etc and probably plugged full of dust and crap and it's over heating or something.

I did speculate that it may be dying battery but the CMOS battery is soldered on the board. so its an hassle to replace it just to see my speculation is right. My case is currently open so I don't think it's cause by heat. Besides old board like this don't hava heat protection.

I still have one! Its set up with an AMD K6-3+ 450, 128 Meg of ram, Voodoo 3 PCI, 7200 RPM HD on a Promise IDE controller.
