My 350W PS is dying and I am trying to determine what to get, thinking in the future. Right now I have

Soyo 5EMA+ w/K6-3 450MHz and 3X64MB memory
Voodoo 3/3000.
MX300
Adaptec 3490U2W
1 IDE HD
3 SCSI HD
3 & 5 diskettet drives
SCSI CDROM
IDE HP CDRW
a couple of extra fans.

In the future I will replace the mobo and go for a raid/1GHz Tbird.

I am debating between a 330W Enermax Whisper and the same brand's 450W non-whisper. I want a quiet system.

What would you do?

when they say whipser quiet, they are correct, but re-think that.
You CAN HEAR a whipser. You can also hear the enermax "whipser" series.
Agreeably, it is VERY VERY quiet though.

For your system, a enermax ~350 shuold be fine.

What do you mean by saying that your psu is "dying?" If it has a noisy fan, that can be replaced a lot cheaper than a new psu...

I am said that it is dying because it fails to start-up. The LEDs blink on for a short period and then go off. I have to turn the PS switch off and sometimes after a while, in particular if I heat the room it will start if I hold the push-button for a while. I had a very bad series of power outages when a power pole fell down close to home. It was very bad toggling on/off for half a minute trying to reconnect to the grid. I think that did it. As for the fan it was dying and I replaced it a coulple of weeks before. It figures..
