OK heres the hardware:
Soyo Dragon Plus
WD 80 GB 7200RPM ATA 100 x2
AMD 1900+

I was able to successfully setup a Stripe o array using Fastrack 100 included in the BIOS. I made sure that I set the jumper on the motherboard, activated raid in the BIOS (also set 1st boot drive to SCSI as instructed in manual) and hooked up both identical drives to the promise controller (IDE 3&4) on the board using ATA 100 cables. Both drives are set to master. I then proceeded to boot from the CD to attempt to install windows XP. XP said no drives were present. I forgot to fdisk, so attempted to do so, but my fdisk would not show any drives available. I went ahead and setup both drives via IDE 1&2 and swithed them back over to the raid controller once they were formatted. I again set everything up and tried to install XP. XP reformated the c drive to NTFS format and installed the OS.

Here s the problem. Windows XP installed correctly, but is showing 2 separate drives (c: & d:) both as 80GB drives. It doesn't appear that the raid 0 is etup correctly. What do I do??? No information is being stored to the d: drive.

Please help.

Just to clarify, the drives are recognized as a valid raid 0 array under the bios but winxp made two separate drives (c & d). Windows xp is only writing to c:. I can save stuff to d:, but shouldn't my array appear as one drive?

Here is how I set up my raid0 on this board.
Enable jumper per manual to raid controller - Enable BIOS raid controller
Set each drive to cable select - one on ide3 and the other on ide4 using separate cables for each.
Set the BIOS boot order to 1st=floppy 2nd=cdrom 3rd=scsi 4th=other
Set the raid0 to performance in the promise raid bios
Download the newer driver for xp from the Soyo tw website (11/28 date I think)
Boot from WinXP disk
When XP starts and shows Hit F6 key to load SCSI drivers - Do it
XP will continue to load and present a screen to load scsi drivers from drive a:
NOTE: Make sure when you extract the Promise raid drivers to a: you do not change any directory structure
Press s to load - leave the disk in drive a: even after xp starts loading again
delete all partitions and select c: to install and xp will format new for you

It should show the two drives as one larger drive ie: (2X40=80)
I also have a third drive on ide1 + cdroms on ide2, etc. etc.
