Help setting up home network.

I haven't set this up since Win 98 SE but now I'm having problems remembering how to do it.
Two boxes...laptop running Win 2000 and desktop running Win XP Pro. Both are running the free version of ZoneAlarm. The desktop is connected to my cable modem and the laptop is connected to my Linksys hub. There is no problem sharing the internet connection.
I've enabled file and print sharing on both and have "shared" the folders I want to share. However I can't see the computers on the network and can't see the printer that I want to share.
I'm probably overlooking some basics but any assistance would be appreciated.

Does it work with zone alarm disabled? Make sure Internet Connection Firewall is disabled. Also, sometimes this works. Look here for a bunch more tips. Good luck.
