ALright, here is the problem. I have searched many many places and many suggestions here have helped, but I am stuck once more.
I have a Cayman 3220-H router, and a dynamic DSL connection.
I have a question regarding how the FTP setup should be. I have the DHCP settings on obviously, and this is how its setup:
Local Address: 192.168.0.1
Net Mask: 255.255.255.0
start address: 192.168.01
end address: 192.168.0.254
now, I have realized that if I wish to set up an ftp, I have to forward the ports 21, this is how i did it:
Protocol: TCP : Ex Port Start 20 : Ex Port End 21 : Internal IP address (this is what confuses me) I have set the ip # to the ip that my comp is always under when I turn it on, and that is 192.168.0.2 : Int Port 20
so what exactly does this do? If this forwards the ports allowing others to have access to my ftp, what ip # should i give them in order to log in? When i go to winconfig I only see all these #'s 192.xx.xxx.xxx, etc etc, since I have it on DHCP.
so for example, when I go to Serve-U, what ip do i set it too, this is what is confusing the crap out of me. someone, please, give me a leed, I am retarded when it comes down to networking.
danny~!
